“The record is a solid sonic architecture, built upon experimentation and maturity”, says Brazilian psych-rock duo White Canyon & The 5th Dimension on their latest album 'IV'. Released digitally earlier in April 2025, the album is now getting a worldwide vinyl release through Fuzz Club which lands . Across its eight tracks, 'IV' marks a moment of artistic affirmation – not a rupture, but a deepening of a language the band has been shaping since their 2019 self-titled debut.

Musically, the album moves through psychedelia, drone, shoegaze, and post-punk, weaving dense atmospheres, ethereal layers, and expansive guitars. There are abrasive and intense passages alongside contemplative and subtle moments. Echoes of classic psychedelia converse with contemporary approaches, while tribal pulses and experimental nuances surface throughout, expanding the sonic landscape.

The album is structured around the four elements — earth, water, fire, and air — as symbolic forces crossing the human experience. Earth sustains and grounds. Water dissolves and guides. Fire transforms and ignites tension. Air expands and transcends: "These elements are not merely references but underlying layers shaping the record’s internal journey, where matter and spirit intersect."Duality remains central to the band’s aesthetic: light and shadow, noise and silence, weight and delicacy. Vocal harmonies emerge from the meeting of feminine and masculine energies, intertwining into a single sonic body.

Recorded throughout 2025 in São Thomé das Letras, Brazil, at the band’s own home studio, “IV” is a fully independent production — from recording and mixing to the album artwork. Every track was performed and produced by the band themselves. The record also features a guest appearance from a friend who recorded a saxophone solo remotely from Vienna, adding a new spatial dimension to the project.

More than a collection of songs, the album unfolds as an experience — a ritualistic passage with a beginning, middle, and end. 'IV' affirms White Canyon & The 5th Dimension’s presence within the Brazilian alternative scene with personality, depth, and aesthetic coherence.
